Sowerby Primary Academy currently have the following vacancies: GTA/HLTA  and a School Administrative Assistant. Please see below for further details regarding these posts:


KS2 General Teaching Assistant/Higher Level Teaching Assistant 31.3 hours per week. Term Time Only. 

General Teaching Assistant:
Hours: 25.6 per week 
Pay: Grade C SCP 2 – 4 - £18,198 to £18,933 FTE per annum

Higher Level Teaching Assistant:
Hours: 5.7 per week 
Pay: Grade F SCP 8 – 13 - £20,493 to £22,627 FTE per annum

 As HLTA, you will be required to deliver lessons to classes and large groups of children. As GTA you will be required to support children under the direction of the class teacher.

 We are looking for a candidate who is:

  • Demonstrate a patient approach and the ability to inspire and motivate
  • experienced using positive behaviour tools in a work capacity.

Sowerby Primary Academy is part of Elevate Multi Academy Trust. We are looking to appoint a friendly and confident School Administrator to work in our school office.

 At Sowerby, we work hard to build trusting relationships with all children and families to ensure their engagement and enjoyment in every aspect of school life.  Children and families may experience a range of needs at different times in their lives.   We work together with many different agencies to support and to ensure individual needs are always catered for.

Our calm and purposeful atmosphere contributes greatly to the development of the whole child. 

The post is an exciting and challenging one, it is a part time post working alongside our school administrator for 25 hours per week. You will be expected to show initiative and adopt a flexible approach to your work.

 We are looking for someone who is dedicated and hard-working and who enjoys the challenges and rewards of working in a busy school office. The successful applicant will need to be a highly motivated individual who has a working knowledge of administrative procedures with excellent IT skills, to work alongside our current School Administrator.  Experience within an educational environment and SAGE education are desirable but not essential.

 Your primary role will be to provide front line support, deal with general administrative duties and look after our reception area.  It is essential that you have good communication skills and are able to deal with parents, children, staff and visitors in a pleasant and courteous manner.
